Supercar Exhibition Turned To Fatal And Shocking Accident

Okay guys. Actually this is my first time to see this kind of car crash. It is very horrific. Here is a slow motion video of the accident that happened last July 2013.

A crash at the Gran Turismo Polonia involving a Koenigsegg CCX injured 19 people, four of them seriously, who were watching the start of the rally race. The cars were on their way to Poznan after leaving from Gdansk. 

The Gran Turismo Polonia allows owners of exotics to race about on public streets and private tracks throughout Europe. The driver of the car itself is okay but the car itself is wrecked, according to Lukasz, who sent in the tip.

From the relation of the eye witness and police it looks like an evident error of the driver.

The accident took place on a 400m straight road just after the start line, the road was closed for the public by the organisators and the spectators were dissociated by the barriers. The accident happened around 16:00 CET. The car struggled to stay in the straight line just after he launched from the start line. The driver lost control of the car and hit a curb and the barriers at big speed.

All the injured people were taken to the hospital. The driver, has been interrogated by the police, he was sober when the accident happened.

The Gran Turismo Polonia is an event held in Poland every year around summer when you can see the fastest and most exotic cars. This year there were 175 participants, mostly Ferraris, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Audi etc. This years edition is the 9th.

The eye witness say, that the driver probably wanted to impress the crowd. He accelarated really hard from the start line. He wanted to show off but unfortunately he lost control of the car, started to spin and eventually hit the curb, the barrier and ended up on the shoulder. Because the car has a low front it basically made all the crowd fly in the air. People were flying all over the place. The speed was so high that people had no chance to move away and escape.

Police investigation will explain if its the drivers fault and if the organisators are also guilty for not sufficient security for the audience during the event.

Israel Invented A Cell Phone Charger That Can Make Your Battery Full For 30 Seconds

StoreDot, an Israeli based startup that focuses on bio-organic nanotechnology, has developed a smartphone battery that will charge in 30 seconds.

According to Time, this is how it works:

StoreDot is using a new battery chemistry that features “nanodots” derived from bio-organic material. These nanodots are used in both the electrode, which stores the battery’s energy, and the electrolyte, which transfers energy between the battery’s anode and cathode ends. StoreDot says the electrical properties of these nanodots allow the electrode to charge much faster, while still discharging at a rate similar to conventional lithium-ion batteries. And because the technology is based on naturally occurring organic compounds, it’s supposedly cheap to produce.

Although the video above is impressive, there are still a few kinks that need to be solved. While the charging time is a lot faster, the battery is physically larger than your typical smartphone battery and won’t last as long. The charger for the battery will also be larger and twice as expensive than the conventional charger. StoreDot says that it’s currently working out these issues.

So this leaves the question of when this brilliant thing will come out. StoreDot reports that they’re looking to start commercial production in late 2016.

Upset Facebook user want to find the culprit that tried to steal her mums car, injuring her mum as she tried to prevent the thief. Mrs. Smythe was heading off for holidays this morning, and with about 700 pounds and her passport in the car, nobody was going to stop her holiday.

The incident was captured on CCTV, and the post was uploaded to Facebook by user 'Louise Fielding' with a message to help find the scumbag: "This scum bag tried robbing my mums car at 7:45am this morning outside her work! (Ripponden road) She is pretty badly bruised but as you can see shes a lil warrior! Please please please if anyone recognises this man/his clothes or saw anything please we NEED to find this man !!!!!!" Company boss Deborah Smythe battled with the thug after he jumped into her driver’s seat as she unlocked a car park barrier at her firm in Oldham, Manchester. The man reversed at speed dragging Mrs Smythe along as she clung on to the driver’s door. 

But she refused to give up - holding on to the steering wheel and struggling with the thief. Eventually the lout drove back towards the barrier and got out of the car.

Rare Goblin Shark Caught In Florida-Its Face Could Be Your Worst Nightmare Ever

A rare, deep-sea "goblin shark" caught by Florida shrimp fishermen is only the second of these creatures ever seen in the Gulf of Mexico, scientists say. 

The prehistoric-looking beast, whose pink color and daggerlike teeth earn the shark its name, is usually seen in deep waters off the coast of Japan. On April 19, fisherman Carl Moore and his crewmates were fishing off the coast of Key West, Florida, when they hauled up the 15-foot-long (4.6 meters) shark with a net full of shrimp from 2,000 feet (610 m) of water. They hoisted the animal up and threw it back into the ocean.

"I didn't even know what it was," Moore told The Houston Chronicle. "I didn't get the tape measure out, because that thing's got some wicked teeth, they could do some damage."

Fortunately, Moore was able to take pictures of the creature using the camera on a cellphone he had just bought. The fishermen reported the sighting to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where shark expert John Carlson was alerted.

Sometimes, being impatient could be the cause of something bad to happen. Like for instance, in today’s busy world where people are always on the go and are on the rush to go to each destinations. Sadly, pedestrian lanes could be the most dangerous place for those people who cannot stand, wait and do nothing for 30-90 seconds just to cross the street. But, Smart company in Lisbon, Portugal came up with a brilliant idea on how to make people wait rather than walk through the red light. “Nobody like to wait. That makes traffic lights the most dangerous spots for pedestrians in the city. But what if we made waiting more entertaining?”

After the company’s introduction, they’ve presented what they called “The Dancing Traffic Light” that shows a dancing red man in a black traffic light box instead of the red man standing stagnant.
The video shows how the traffic light caught the attention of people in the sidewalks. They’ve became amazed of the dancing red man in the traffic light.

Then, Smart presented how this dancing traffic light worked. They’ve set-up a black mini-theatre called The Dance Box in a park not too far away from the intersection where the motion of the dancing traffic light came from volunteer dancers who went into the box and groove into the music. The movements of those volunteer dancers where captured using cameras put inside.
“Each dance was brought to the traffic light in real time.”

Instead of dangerously crossing the street during red light, the people watch and dance along in amusement of the traffic light.

And the result is “81 percent more people stopped at the red light. And they even had fun doing so.”
This amazing and smart idea for a safe and better place for pedestrians has gone viral with over 5 million hits. One comment on the video says “This application of game mechanics improves pedestrian safety while also entertaining those at the intersections.  Behavior can be changed by making everyday "tasks" fun and engaging.”

Let’s all remember that traffic lights are not for ornamentations in streets, it is placed there to give safety to everyone. Always obey rules.
